Home Value Estimate & Equity Report

Know the estimate. Then decide what it means for you.

Value is a starting point

Three numbers. Three different questions.

Estimated home value

What might the property be worth based on the information available? It is not a lender appraisal.

Estimated equity

What remains after the mortgages secured by the home? Accessible equity also depends on financing limits.

Would a purchase, refinance or no change better fit your plans? A report cannot answer that on its own.

Homeownership belongs in your wealth-building plan

Median homeowner net worth compared with renters and other non-owners
0 ×

In the Federal Reserve’s 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances, median net worth was $396,200 for homeowners and $10,400 for renters and other non-owners, a difference of about 38 times.

This is a historical comparison, not proof that buying a home causes that difference or a forecast of your results. Home equity is one part of net worth. Income, age, saving habits and other assets matter too.

Your report helps us put your estimated equity, mortgage and next move into one plan.

Questions worth asking

A few answers before your next move

Is the home value estimate an appraisal?

No. The report provides an estimate using the information available to the report service. It is a planning starting point, not a lender appraisal, guaranteed sale price or approval for a loan.

How do I estimate my home equity?

Subtract the balances of all loans secured by the home from its estimated value. Selling costs and financing limits can reduce the amount available for a particular transaction. Our team can help separate estimated equity from accessible borrowing capacity.

Can this report help me decide whether to refinance?

It can provide a starting value estimate and mortgage context. A refinance still requires a review of your loan, costs, qualifications and property. We can compare keeping your current mortgage with the alternatives.

Does more equity automatically remove mortgage insurance?

No. Cancellation depends on your loan type, payment history, value evidence and the applicable rules. We can help you identify questions to ask your loan servicer. FHA mortgage insurance follows different rules from conventional PMI.

How do I get the report and use it?

Request your home equity report through the existing report service. Review the service’s information and privacy terms when you sign up. Then schedule a mortgage review to talk through your plans.
